Vycel P to be Featured at 2004 Composites Trade Shows
Vycel P offers an approach to help mitigate the impending U.S. government styrene emissions regulations and will be featured at a number of composites trade shows in 2004.
Bill Jennings, president of Crowley Chemical Company, stated "We're very pleased to have developed and introduced a product for the composite trade industry that will assist the unsaturated polyester processor meet these new styrene emission government regulations."
Vycel P's low viscosity allows for easy resin viscosity adjustments. Its hydrophobic nature dramatically improves water resistance. In addition, its ability to wet the surface of glass makes for easier and faster roll out and enhances physicals by improving the resins' contact with the glass surface. Vycel P also is as economical to use as styrene.
Chris Mortensen, General Manager of Crowley Chemical, noted that the company has published a number of bulletins characterizing the benefits of incorporating Vycel P in various resin systems. These include a booklet describing the advantages that Vycel P offers polyester compounders using a wide range of resins. One bulletin addresses the suppression of styrene emissions using the CFA protocol. Another discusses TCLP testing with Vycel P in scrap or discarded resin.
